ABOUT OUR BUSINESS

One of the hardest questions any of us are ever asked is, "tell me about yourself." Of course, this question is usually asked when there is a lot on the line...like a seat at a dream school or job.

We at Eloquate know how to answer this question. We reject one-size-fits-all formulas for essays and resumes; instead, we use classic literary devices, legal strategy, and PR framing to transform your application materials into unique, captivating narratives that compel others to learn more about you.

We do more than proofread and upgrade your vocabulary. We help you learn how to plan and build a memorable message that is unique to your personality, skills, and objectives. We do not create a template and mechanically plug in your data, no matter how poor the fit. Rather, we help you craft deliverables that amplify your personal voice and style to make them distinct extensions of who you are and what you represent. We also carefully consider your goals to ensure your words resonate with your intended audience.

If your professional services are a pen, we are Jordan Belfort teaching you how to sell it to anyone...minus the illegality, of course.

ABOUT JESSICA

Only twice has Jessica not received a job offer after an interview: once because she lacked the knowledge of lager required for working at a sports bar, and once because her interviewer was convinced her resume was fake because it was "just too good."

Jessica started building her communication skills in kindergarten when she negotiated a contractual agreement with her parents that ended with her getting a puppy. After co-captaining her high school Mock Trial team and winning gavels at Model United Nations competitions around the world, she gave up her theatrical ambitions and set her sights on law school. She studied broadcast journalism and politics at NYU before transferring to BYU, where she was an outspoken advocate for gender equality in the aggressively male accounting program (which, admittedly, is not difficult to achieve in a room full of introverted accountants).

Jessica sharpened her ability to convince and persuade at Fordham University School of Law. Before graduating with honors and an award for receiving her class's highest grade in constitutional law, she interned for a federal judge and personally argued a discrimination case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. (She won, in case you were wondering.)

As was the case with many individuals, the COVID-19 pandemic was a time of reflection and reevaluation for Jessica. She decided to pivot from litigating in federal court to working for a boutique strategic communications firm. There, she provided crisis management, litigation support, and other specialized PR counsel to major organizations and notable individuals.

After welcoming a daughter in late 2022, Jessica determined she had enough crisis in her life and decided to change course once again. While helping a soon-to-be college freshman draft his first resume, she joked that she had helped so many people with resumes and applications over the years that she could make a business of it. One too many inspirational TikToks later, she decided she was just delulu enough to turn her joke into a reality.
